Could not intialize the host network interface on nullbecause of an error for Jenkins on Debian

I have installed Jenkins on Debian and started it as a service. When I try to access it from the browser, the page in unavailable. Jenkins logs at /var/logs/jenski show the following message:
Could not intialize the host network interface on nullbecause of an error

Also, restart the hostname service:
/etc/init.d/hostname.sh start

The problem is unresolvable host. Check the contents of the file /etc/hostname. To modify the host name permanently, edit two files: /etc/hostname and /etc/hosts.
