Heroku Git push error: No such app as ... after application rename

Posted on 12-12-2013 09:10 by graham
I created an app on Heroku with automatically generated name warm-owl-7511. After configuring the Git repository and making some commits, I changed the name of the app using Heroku web interface to myapp.heroku.com.

Then, when I tried to commit new changes to Git doing
git push heroku master

I got the following error:
! No such app as warm-owl-7511.

fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

Please make sure you have the correct access rights
and the repository exists.

The solution to this was to run the following commands:
git remote rm heroku
heroku git:remote -a myapp

# Git remote heroku added

After that, I was able to push my changes to Heroku.
