In order to check if a user has read or edit access to a record in Salesforce, you can query the UserRecordAccess object:
SOQL query
SELECT RecordId, HasEditAccess, HasReadAccess FROM UserRecordAccess
WHERE UserId = <user-id> AND RecordId = <record-id>
