Postgres database backup bash script into file with current date

The script below can be used to back up a Postgres database in custom format. The output file name will contain the current date.
pg_dump_script.sh
#!/bin/bash

fileName=$(date +"%m.%d.%Y")

pg_dump -h localhost -F c --username=db-user-name some-db-name > "/some/dir/path/db.${fileName}.backup"
